HOW ZELQAVIN WORKS
ZELQAVIN is a music project shaped by human ideas, emotions, and questions, with generative AI playing a central role in how those ideas are developed into music, vocals, lyrics, and visuals.
Each work develops through decisions about what it should express, what should remain, what should be removed, and how music, lyrics, sound, and visuals should come together as a single experience.
Generative AI is deeply integrated into that process, expanding the range of material and possibilities I can work with.
HUMAN DIRECTION
Every work begins with something I want to explore.
What do I want someone to feel when it ends? What question do I want to ask? What scene do I want them to remember? And how should it be heard, seen, and experienced?
For me, creation is not simply the act of generating a result. It is the ongoing process of deciding which possibilities truly belong in the work.
GENERATIVE AI
I use generative AI extensively throughout the creative process, including music, vocals, lyrics, and visual development.
It plays a central role in generating material, developing ideas, creating drafts, and exploring possibilities that I might choose to take further.
But generation is not the same as completion.
I review what is generated against the direction of the work, then decide what to keep, edit, arrange, revise, develop further, rebuild, or discard entirely.
In lyric development, AI can contribute drafts, alternatives, and possibilities, while I decide the final meaning, direction, wording, and what ultimately remains in the work.
SELECTION IS PART OF CREATION
A single idea can lead to many possible outcomes.
Not every generated result belongs in the work. I keep asking:
What belongs here?
What feels unnecessary?
What is missing?
What should remain?
Sometimes I keep a result almost untouched. Sometimes I change it. Sometimes I rebuild it. Sometimes I discard it entirely.
For me, selection and judgment are not separate from creation. They are part of creation itself.
ONE WORK, MANY LAYERS
A ZELQAVIN work does not stop at the music.
Lyrics, sound, space, video, visual identity, and narrative are all parts of the same creative world.
I develop these elements together so that the same idea, emotion, or question can take different forms without simply repeating itself.
Generative AI plays a major role in building many of these layers, while I decide how they connect, what they mean together, and what ultimately remains in the finished work.
WHAT REMAINS
I care about how the work is made.
But I care even more about what remains once the process disappears from view.
